Coffee Bag Room Screen From A Flea Market Find
This coffee bag room screen took me over a year to complete. Each time I tried to gain ground on the project, I got frustrated and walked away. I would let it sit for a few weeks and then come back to it with renewed determination. I'd like to say the finished project was worth it, but I'm not sure it was. Let's talk after I sell it.I bought the room screen for $5 at the Strawtown Flea Market in Noblesville, IN. The flea market is open only on Thursdays and there's an auction that evening. I haven't been to the auction, but I'll report back if I do go.
The screen frame was painted with Old School DIY Paint. It's one of our favorite colors. The piece was black originally so one coat of Old School covered it easily. I sealed the paint with Clear Wax by DIY Paint.

The project took six burlap coffee bags cut into 18 panels. Nine for the front and nine for the back. I stapled the first nine panels on the front side of the screen. Next, I folded the edges in and stapled them another time. On the other side, I folded, hemmed or ironed the edges of the other nine panels and hot glued them to those that were stapled. It was very much trial and error and error and error. Finally, my husband stood behind the screen, held it still which helped me move past frustration and finish the project.
